Thinking With My Eyes Closed

Thinking With My Eyes Closed Image

Someone once said to me:

“You don’t sleep. You just think with your eyes closed.”

And I’ve been thinking about that.

I think it makes me happy.

But it also makes me sad.

What then, about my dreams? Are they simply my reality? Or my subconscious leaving little notes for me? Is this when my gut feels like it can start talking? Does it think this is the time when I’m listening?

Sometimes I have ideas in the middle of the night. I always sleep with a notebook and pen by my side. I’ve woken up and read some things I’ve written, sometimes clear, sometimes scrawled, sometimes non-sensical, and sometimes I wonder if someone else was in the room.

If I’m thinking when I’m sleeping, and thinking when I’m awake, it must definitely mean I’m overthinking.

Sometimes I’m much smarter when I don’t think.

So maybe it would be better to just sleep.

So how do I do that?
